About

This workshop introduces participants to a 4-question framework to achieve equity in policy implementations.  You will be guided through  an interactive review and revision of an existing policy joining in collaborative conceptualization sessions for each of the four questions.  The collaborative conceptualization sessions will seek to answer each of the questions in regards to a specific policy.

You will learn:

  • FIC Human Resource Partner's 4-question framework to achieving equity in policy implementations.
  • How to identify/define the purpose of a policy
  • How to assess a policy from multiple perspectives
  • How to identify variations in impact.

At the end of the session, you will have determined the intent / purpose of the policy, who will be impacted by it, how that impact will differ, and ways to revise the policy to achieve a more equitable outcome.  In collaboratively working your way through the review of a single specific policy, participants will learn the basic skills necessary to implement the process on their own.

Workshop Variations

Our standard Acheiving Equity in Policy workshop is a 2-hour learning opportunity that uses a simple policy template to guide the collaborative conceptualization sessions and discussions.

We offer a more indepth 4-hour workshop that requires the participants to write a policy without any policy template as a starting point.
